Cusp is a party game for people in the same room. This policy explains what the current iOS app stores locally, what it sends to generate a deck, and what you are responsible for when using an AI-generated joke.

01 / The short version

Cusp does not require an account. Names, birthdays, rooms, and local app state are stored on your device so the game can create and reopen rooms. Cusp does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

To generate cards, Cusp sends the names in the room and derived astrology information to our server. Our server uses a third-party AI provider to produce the deck. Do not enter sensitive information.

02 / Information you enter

  • Names and birthdays: used to create a room and calculate the astrology fields used by the game.
  • Rooms and deck state: stored locally so you can return to a room, delete it, or run it again.
  • Reports: card reports are recorded locally on the device to avoid repeatedly reporting the same card.

The current deck-generation payload contains names and derived fields such as sign, decan, Chinese zodiac, life path, and pair relationships. The current client does not include the raw birth-date value in that payload.

03 / AI generation

When a deck is generated, the request goes to our Cusp server, which forwards the generation request to a third-party AI provider. The provider may process the request under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control the provider's systems, retention, or availability.

Our server may also receive normal technical information such as IP address, request time, device/network information, and error or rate-limit data. This is used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and operating the service.

Cusp may use a local fallback deck when remote generation fails. Generated text is not guaranteed to be unique, accurate, appropriate, or available.

04 / Apple purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime access are processed by Apple through the App Store. Cusp does not receive or store your payment card number. Apple may provide us with transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock or restore access.

05 / Retention and deletion

Local rooms remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete a room from the Rooms screen by long-pressing it. Uninstalling the app removes its local storage, subject to normal device backups.

We do not intentionally keep a permanent copy of every deck request in the Cusp app. Server, hosting, security, and third-party provider logs may exist for limited periods under the policies of those services.

06 / Your responsibility

Only add people who are present and who are comfortable being included. You are responsible for having permission to enter another person's information and for how you read, share, or act on a generated card.

Cusp is entertainment. Astrology calculations and AI-generated statements can be wrong, incomplete, biased, awkward, or offensive. They are not facts and are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, relationship, employment, safety, or other professional advice. Do not use Cusp to make important decisions.

07 / Disclaimer

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, Cusp is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that the app, server, astrology, AI output, or purchases will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent allowed by law, you accept responsibility for your use of the app and any output, and you agree not to rely on a card as a statement of truth.

Nothing in this policy excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited in your jurisdiction.

08 / Children and links

Cusp is intended for people aged 17 and over and is not knowingly directed to children under 17. Cusp contains links to Apple and other websites. Their content and privacy practices are controlled by those third parties.

09 / Contact and changes

Questions, requests, or concerns can be sent through Aipple. We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
