1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how VibeType handles information when you use the VibeType iOS app and VibeType keyboard extension. In this policy, "VibeType", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the developer of VibeType.
2. Summary
VibeType does not operate developer-controlled text servers and does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, or data broker SDKs.
When Apple Intelligence is available, rewriting is handled on device. When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, VibeType can use OpenAI GPT fallback. In that case, the text you choose to rewrite, the rewrite request, and the generated output may be transmitted to OpenAI.
The OpenAI API project used for VibeType may have data sharing enabled. If enabled, OpenAI may retain and use API inputs and outputs sent through GPT fallback to improve OpenAI services, according to OpenAI's settings, terms, and policies.
3. Typed Text and AI Rewriting
When you choose to rewrite text with VibeType, the rewrite is handled on device using Apple Intelligence through Apple's system language model features when available. If the device is not eligible for Apple Intelligence, VibeType can send the text you choose to rewrite to OpenAI for GPT fallback, but only when keyboard Full Access is enabled.
GPT fallback may transmit the rewrite input, prompt instructions, and generated output to OpenAI. Because the OpenAI API project used for VibeType may have data sharing enabled, OpenAI may retain and use that API traffic to improve its services. Do not use GPT fallback for text you do not want sent to OpenAI.
VibeType does not save a local history of your typed text or rewritten text. Once you leave or edit text in another app, that content is controlled by that app and by your device, not by VibeType.
4. Local App Settings
VibeType may store settings locally on your device so the app works as expected. These settings can include your selected keyboard style, selected language, onboarding/setup state, Pro unlock state, and daily free rewrite count.
These settings are stored locally using iOS storage and the VibeType app group so the main app and keyboard extension can stay in sync. We do not transmit these settings to our own servers.
5. Purchases
VibeType Pro is offered as a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process payment, transaction, refund, tax, and account information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
VibeType receives only the purchase entitlement needed to unlock Pro features on your device. We do not receive your credit card number, bank details, Apple ID password, or full App Store account information.
6. Network Requests
VibeType does not operate developer servers for the app and does not include analytics, ads, or tracking SDKs. Some Apple system services may be contacted by iOS or StoreKit for App Store purchases, entitlement checks, operating system functionality, or Apple Intelligence availability.
When Apple Intelligence is unavailable and keyboard Full Access is enabled, rewrite requests may be sent to OpenAI for GPT fallback. Apple and OpenAI services are governed by their own policies.
7. Tracking, Ads, and Third Parties
VibeType does not track you across apps or websites. VibeType does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or data broker SDKs. We do not sell or rent personal data.
8. Full Access Keyboard Permission
Full Access is required for network-based GPT fallback on devices that cannot use Apple Intelligence. If Full Access is enabled and GPT fallback is used, rewrite text can be sent to OpenAI. If iOS presents any keyboard permission prompt, review Apple's wording carefully and only enable permissions you are comfortable with.
9. Security
VibeType limits its own data handling by avoiding developer-operated text servers, ads, analytics SDKs, and tracking SDKs. Your device security, iCloud settings, backups, other apps you type into, messages you send, Apple services, and OpenAI services are controlled by you, Apple, OpenAI, your device settings, and the relevant third-party services.
10. Responsible Use and AI Output
VibeType helps rewrite text, but you are responsible for reviewing the output before sending, posting, publishing, or relying on it. You are solely responsible for the text you choose to enter, rewrite, send, publish, or use.
Do not use VibeType to create or improve unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, hateful, deceptive, infringing, threatening, sexually exploitative, or otherwise improper content. To the fullest extent allowed by law, VibeType is not responsible for misuse of the app or for consequences of content that users choose to send or publish.
11. Children
VibeType does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you believe personal data has somehow been provided to us through a support contact, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. Your Privacy Choices
You can avoid OpenAI GPT fallback by keeping keyboard Full Access disabled or by using VibeType only on devices where Apple Intelligence rewriting is available. You can remove locally stored app settings by deleting the app from your device. You can manage or restore purchases through the App Store and your Apple ID settings.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if VibeType changes. If we change the app's data handling, use analytics, add developer servers, add ads, add tracking, or use additional external services, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information as required.
